What is the difference between eau de parfum, eau de toilette, and eau de cologne?

The difference is in the amount or concentration of essences in the product. The highest concentration is in eau de parfum at 15% to 25%, then eau de toilette at 6% to 14%, and finally eau de cologne at 3% to 5%. Put simply, the higher the concentration of essences the stronger the perfume and the longer it will last.

Why do some fragrances last much longer than others?

The first consideration is the strength of the fragrance. This will make a difference to how long it lasts. As a guide, the following normally applies: colognes last 3 to 4 hours, eau de toilette 5 to 6 hours and eau de parfum 7 to 8 hours. However, people with dry skin usually find that a fragrance's holding time is shorter on their skin than it would be on somebody with oily skin. This is because oily skin has more natural moisture to hold in a fragrance.

Keep your fragrances in a cool, dry and dark area as sunlight can unbalance the various ingredients. An opened bottle should be kept in its box to ensure a longer shelf life.

How should I or where should I apply fragrance?

Fragrance should be applied to pulse points. This is where the blood vessels are closest to the skin giving off more heat and acting like mini fragrance pumps. Pulse points are the wrist, behind the ear, crook of the arm and knee, base of the throat. Also, for long lasting fragrance spray at the ankles, it allows the fragrance to blossom up.
